Antique furniture surviving the recession

News just in from the UK, says that antique furniture from the Georgian period, and in particular mahogany furniture, is holding its value in the auction rooms.

That's great news when you compare this with more modern and lesser quality furniture, as this is becoming less worthy and with most not even being sold in the auction room.

So what greater investment than a period piece of furniture in the home. This helps reduce the need for new/virgin manufactured pieces of furniture, which in turn helps reduce the negative impact on the environment. Plus, if it's an antique, you'll look after it more and it could last a lifetime.

Less demand on the rubbish dump and less carbon emissions.
